For the exhibition «Transfers» the Kunsthalle St.Gallen rented the lower floor in addition to their rooms in order to spatially convey a vision for the future for the first time. The three solo exhibitions by Michel Auder (USA), Odili Donald Odita (Nigeria/USA) and the artist duo Koorder (Matthias Berger, Till Hänel/CH) share – despite all their differences – an interest in orientation signs, orientation themes, up to orientation modules. All three artistic attitudes start in a fundamentally hybrid relationship to perception, which is characterized by the fact that a counterpart is always thinking along. Here it is not a matter of clarity, but of transfiguration; it is the expression of a content-related as well as aesthetic attitude. It is not new to describe a fundamentally current way of working; what is striking about all three attitudes, however, is the ambivalent intensity that is created in the process, which sees itself both as a mystery and as an orientation for a possible reception.
