The Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund (MGB; Migros Cooperative Society) has been collecting contemporary art since 1976. About 1400 works by various artists with international reputations are now brought together in the collection. For the first time in ten years a large group of works will be shown outside the Migros Museum for Contemporary Art, Zurich, which was founded in 1996. With the title "Memorable Memory" the Kunst Halle presents a selection of pieces dealing with memory and diverse recording methods. Personal and collective, as well as horrible or happy memories, are arranged in the form of a timeline for this show.
The exhibition title, "Memorable Memory," refers to the work of Noritoshi Hirakawa. The artist interviewed people on the streets of New York concerning their memories of the day of the death of princess Diana.
