Wyoming

Cosima Von Bonin

10 September–31 October 1999

With simple, everyday materials and objects, with mementos and private treasures, the internationally renowned artist Cosima von Bonin develops her exhibition «Wyoming», in which a searching and pensive subject is constituted. A subject that seismographically looks for localizations between the art world and reality, in order to comprehend life and being between assumptions and assertions, between longings and aggressions. In her exhibition «Wyoming» Cosima von Bonin connects the spaces through a rectangular arrangement system of waist-high fences, through which various included and excluded segments are created. In these smaller and larger 'paddocks' the artist stages various works, such as three-dimensional mushrooms made of felt, cloths on the wall with sewn-on lines suggesting architectures, or an oversized and crudely carpentered wooden bed, Riot Girls sandals, and other set pieces from the fund of her works.
