Under the title «Club Superspace», Björn Dahlem developed a trilogy that started in May 2001 with the work Auf der Suche nach der Hyperpsyche (engl. In Search of the Hyperpsyche) as part of the group project Transit, a navigation at the Freiburger Kunstverein. At Kunsthalle St.Gallen he realises his most extensive installation to date and also shows the current video work Die Enden der Parabel (engl. The ends of the Parabola). Dahlem deals with astrophysical questions. Terms such as Urnichts, Superspace, black hole or even M-theory appear in his titles not only as associative keywords, but above all offer him an aesthetic as well as content-related matrix on which he develops his works. For the work Auf der Suche nach der M-Theorie (engl. In Search of M-Theory), which Dahlem realised as part of his solo exhibition at Kunsthalle St.Gallen, he deals with the field of astrophysical research on the so-called M-theory, a theory that has attempted to link the microcosm with the macrocosm for decades, i.e. the theory of relativity with quantum physics.
