British artist Angus Fairhurst's exhibition at Kunsthalle features a new video work, drawings, and two tabletop works. He works across media as well as widely interconnected in terms of content. In his installations, music performances, sculptures, paintings or drawings, the motifs of movement and repetition repeatedly play a decisive role, reflecting Fairhurst's attention to rhythms and speeds: in doing so, they reflect a contemporary attitude to life that is fed by a fragmented network of set pieces from our reality. Angus Fairhurst's works are seductive without really making clear what they are seducing. They are dreamy and at the same time they are also unmaskingly realistic when it comes to exploring the incompatibility between desire and reality.
