On November 29th 2015, we offer a public guided tour through the exhibition galesburg, illinois+ by Stephen Prina at 3 p.m., free of charge.
The work of the American concept artist Stephen Prina (*1954 in Galesburg, USA, lives and works in Los Angeles) is multi-layered and makes use of various cultural references. Whether with art history, literature or music, Prina manages to transform complex reference systems in the exhibition space into sensuous narration - despite a reduced formal vocabulary which can be attributed to the tradition of minimalism. For Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen he has produced a new complex of work that deals with his town of birth, Galesburg. The provincial town in the Midwest of the USA serves as a projection surface for personal memories but also embeds his biography in a historical and cultural context.
During each exhibition we offer on request also private guided tours (Costs: 120 CHF plus admission; outside regular opening times: 160 CHF plus admission. For school classes please check our special conditions. Contact us at: info@k9000.ch)
